From the bayou atmosphere of the banks of the Charente, where ducks and water hens are your traveling companions, you will move on to a landscape that is both hilly and very open where crops and vines rub shoulders.
Your itinerary

Step 1
From the car park of the church - see desk telling its story - head east towards the Charente, by the Route des Ponts.

Step 2
Take the path on the left just in front of the bridge. Cross the footbridge over the Doux and follow the arm of the river for 1,5 km – at the second pumping station, turn right then pass the gate to return to the Charente.

Step 3
Turn left on Prairie Road. Continue straight until the village of Lagroux. At the crossroads, take Rue de Chez Joumier opposite - note the beautiful Charentais gate on the left. Ignore the Route de la Pougnerie on the right, continue Rue du Vignaud on the right and come out on the RD96 which you follow to the left - take advantage of the bench in the shade on the plot before tackling the hills.

Step 4
After leaving the village, take the Chemin du Souchaud on the left. Ignore the path that goes to the right then the one to the left to continue climbing straight up the hillside. Up there, on either side of the Charente valley, are revealed on one side, the winged giants of North Charente and on the opposite side the belfry of Angoulême.

Step 5
Leave the white path to take the wooded path opposite. Turn left at the end of the wood. Climb then descend towards the road that you cross to continue opposite. Beautiful hilly landscapes still accompany you.

Step 6
Turn left to take the white path which runs along the LGV then descends slowly towards the village of Lasdoux.

Turn right on the road, continue opposite the crossroads.

Follow the Rue du Lavoir on the right to arrive at the Lasdoux washhouse. The Ladon stream is channeled along the road. Turn left in front of the wash house and come out on Rue de Lasdoux. Make a left / right, go up by the chemin du Quanty towards the house which you bypass by the right then by the left to go down towards the chemin du Ladon.

Step 9
Continue to the right until the RD 96, Route des Sables which leads to the village. Turn left in front of the cemetery to return to the church square.
